For those who love the true essence of Umbria, this bright and panoramic country house is the ideal solution, away from the city noise, yet not far from shops and services, in the charming village of Silvignano, halfway between Spoleto and Campello sul Clitunno, in one of the most beautiful and sought-after areas of Italy's green heart.
The house has an independent entrance, with no condominium fees, and is ready to move in. It is part of a building with only two residential units in good structural condition, while also allowing for customization of the spaces, all of which are spacious and filled with natural light, with a total area of about 100 sq.m. spread over a single floor and well divided between the living area and the sleeping area.
Access is via a comfortable two-flight internal staircase leading to the entrance of the house, which opens onto a custom-fitted kitchen with a beautiful fireplace, ready to be lit to create a pleasant old-world atmosphere.
Next, you come to the two bedrooms arranged along a corridor that connects the spacious bathroom with a window to a welcoming living room, carefully furnished and bathed in light.
A home where, the moment you enter, you feel at home, enveloped by the warmth of thick, centuries-old walls that keep it cool in the summer and temperate in the winter, in the context of a mild climate all year round that is unaffected by mountain harshness, as it is a hilly area with panoramic views where the eye can wander over the woods, olive groves, and the endless shades of green in the surrounding valleys, making the landscape a work of art, a refuge for the soul.
HISTORICAL NOTES ON SILVIGNANO
The property is located in a loverly position along the ancient Via della Spina, once traveled by knights, armies, shepherds, and devoted pilgrims heading to the Sanctuary of the Madonna of Loreto, still today dotted with centuries-old villages and architectural traces from remote eras.
The village stands in a commanding position at an altitude of about 600 meters between the Pettino and Spina valleys, near Poreta, and still retains fortification remains that tell its history, from the Middle Ages to the present day.
At the entrance to the village, it is possible to admire a splendid votive shrine depicting the Madonna surrounded by Saints John the Baptist and John the Evangelist. Next to it is the ancient washhouse, preserved through recent restoration, where local women used to go to do the laundry until the last century.
Notable is the presence of the parish church of San Giovanni Evangelista, characterized by masonry dating back to around the 12th century.
Information note: Silvignano is a fifteen-minute drive from the city of Spoleto and about ten minutes from the town of Campello sul Clitunno, along the Spina road, lined with tourist accommodations, bars, restaurants, and farm stays nearby for those who want to get familiar with the traditions and flavors of the region.
